The Zoological Museum Copenhagen has one of the world largest tissue
collection of birds. As of November 2008 there were samples for 3100 species, whereby most samples consist of blood preserved in DMSO. The tissue collection
also contains a substantial number of samples of African reptiles and a
limited number of tissues from arthropods. A list of bird species represented
in the collection is available from this webpage. The species are ordered
alphabetically by genus and species. The number of available samples are
listed in a separate column. Tissue grants are governed by the ZMUC
tissue collection policy.
