Distribution, wing morphology, flight and habitat choice of bats
The main research project "Analysis and comparison of faunas of insectivorous bats, concerning diversity in wing morphology, free flight in the field, and choice of habitat, including also faunistic investigations" includes field work on bats with ultrasonic detectors, multiflash photography etc. in various European countries, and in Africa (H.J. Baagøe).
Data collected in Tanzania (1991) has been analysed*.(H.J. Baagøe). Records of bats in the Faroe Islands have been published* (H.J. Baagøe, with D. Bloch, Føroya Nátturugripasavn, Tórshavn).
Work on an atlas project started 1981 has been continued, including final data collection, analysis of data and start of production of a manuscript (working title: "Danish bats: Atlas and analysis of distribution, occurrence, and abundance", abstract published*) (H.J. Baagøe).
Field work and museum collection work in connection with a three years project within "The Human Capital and Mobility Programme of the European Community, through the Doñana Biological Station" titled:" Species diversity concerning free flight in the field and adaptive wing morphology of bat communities in southern Spain" has been completed (H.J. Baagøe, with C. Ibañez, Estacion Biologica de Doñana, Sevilla).
Due to a several years' publication delay, three comprehensive monograph chapters for the bat volume of "Handbuch der Säugetiere Europas" have been completely rewritten (H.J. Baagøe).
