World of Flesh Flies
Rodrigo Meneses de Barros

My first experience with Sarcophagidae happened when I was a kid and was watching an adult female dying because of an insecticide. I got impressed when I saw some live larvae leaving the body of the dead mother.

After entering Biology in UnB on 2002 (University of Brasília, Brazil) I met Pujol-Luz and started to work with flies related to Forensic Entomology. I started working with Calliphoridae, which is a very interesting group, but now my interest lies in Sarcophagidae.

At the moment I am trying to identify all species that inhabit Cerrado and that are attracted by pig carcasses. I hope to finish this work in the middle of 2006.
