Ferenc Mihályi published 16 papers on flesh flies from 1938 to 1981.
Most of his works are on applied aspects, and he construed a 'danger-index'
for assessing the impact of synanthropic flies.
His Magnum Opus from 1979 treats the Hungarian fauna of Sarcophagidae,
which is, however, of somewhat limited use as it was written in Hungarian.
On the taxonomic side, Mihályi proposed eight species-group taxa of flesh flies,
all from Hungary, but only three of these are currently considered valid.
