Studying the movements of birds

We study most aspects of ornithology but with a primary focus on bird migration, especially the orientation system of long-distance migrants.

Lab research also covers animal orientation and radio tracking in general.

Other primary research areas include all aspects of the distribution, evolution and ecology of birds.

The lab is home to the Copenhagen Bird Ringing Centre of the Zoological Museum, Natural History Museum of Denmark.

We are part of the DG Center for Macroecology, Evolution and Climate Change
